This posh property ooks beautiful – at least from the outside – but one design quirk left people asking what on earth the former owners had been doing in there

Everyone loves snooping inside posh houses on property listings now and again, but this million-pound property has left people reeling.

We all have to make a few compromises when it comes to finding a new home. Whether it’s location, size, or knowing you’ll have to part with even more of your hard-earned cash for renovations, it’s rare to find the complete package.

When a five-bedroom detached home in Middlesex went on the market for a cool £1.3m, it promised a family-friendly location, bright spaces, and a conservatory leading to a patio area and spacious rear garden. However, inside, there was one design quirk that would likely be a major problem for most people.

The house has a bizarre amount of plug sockets all over the walls (Rightmove)

Back in 2019, Toby Davies posted the property that, shall we say, featured an unusual interior design choice in a post on Twitter – now known as X. The post was so attention-grabbing it has since had more than 6,000 likes and been reposted around 2,500 times.

He wrote: “Thinking about buying this house, but I’m not sure it has enough plug sockets.” As photos of the home move from the stunning exterior, to the dreamy kitchen and then to the living area, Toby’s sarcastic concerns become very apparent.

People were concerned for the previous homeowner’s electricity bill(Rightmove)

Every wall appears to be absolutely plastered in sockets. Sockets stacked on top of one another, sockets halfway up the walls and sockets running underneath the windows.

There are, to put it simply, more plug sockets than you can possibly imagine one property needing, and begs the question of what on earth the previous owners were getting up to inside the home.

People couldn’t figure out why anyone would need so many plugs(rightmove.co.uk)

With the owners clearly having never laid eyes on a multi-plug adapter or an extension lead, people were left completely baffled as to what all the outlets were possibly used for.
