Australia is home to bustling cities and beautiful, rural locales, so it makes sense that its real estate prices vary greatly. But one thing that’s universal in Oz is that prices are on the up. “Average residential prices across New South Wales are now $284,000 higher than they were in December 2019,” The Guardian confirmed. And those living in Tasmania are now, on average, paying 49% more for a home than they were before the Covid 19 pandemic. As of June 2023, the mean price of residential dwellings in Australia was AUD$912,700, which equates to $593,775 (£478k), with homes in New South Wales being the most expensive at AUD$1.2 million ($781/£630k). The cheapest state to buy is Northern Territory, where the average home costs AUD$521,700, or $339,400 (£273k).
