40 Lakh Cash, 89 Laptops, iPhones, Foreign Currencies, Mangalsutras And Other Items Left By Passengers In Delhi Metro
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), which oversees the security at the Delhi Metro, revealed the items left by the commuters on Delhi’s lifeline.
Per the data released by the agency for 2024, Delhi Metro commuters lost cash totalling over Rs 40 lakh besides gadgets, including 89 laptops, 40 watches, and 193 mobile phones. Nine mangalsutras (worn by Indian married women) were abandoned in the train. Some of the other personal articles lost by passengers included 13 pairs of anklets and silver ornaments, rings, bangles, and more. After the verification of claims, these articles were restored to the owners by CISF.
The security agency also found and restored foreign currency, including the US Dollar, Saudi Riyal, and Thai Baht, totalling up to Rs 25,550. CISF periodically shares some of its good samaritan deeds on social media, restoring faith in the Indian security agency that is slandered often over their alleged behaviour.
