The Wayne County Board of Supervisors will hold its regularly scheduled June meeting at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in Lyons. Officials will contend with a packed agenda, which includes human services, health, public safety, and fiscal updates from previous sessions.
The session begins with a public hearing on a proposed local law amending the county’s solid waste management plan, originally adopted under Local Law No. 7-89 and subsequently amended in 1991 and 2010. The amendment seeks to revise waste management procedures for refuse generated or originating in Wayne County.
Upcoming Resolutions: Staffing, Services, and Infrastructure
The Human Services Committee will present multiple staffing proposals, including the creation of a full-time caseworker position in the Department of Aging and Youth in response to a 13% rise in youth case management demands and anticipated growth in runaway and kinship care cases. The board will also consider:

Other actions include reinstating sick leave to employees affected by a COVID leave policy miscommunication and renewing Wayne DSS’s contract with Wayne Behavioral Health Network for drug and alcohol assessment services.
The Health and Medical Committee will bring forward proposals for:
