In the latest version, which has been tested by sellers and conveyancers, questions on material information that were added to the fifth edition to comply with National Trading Standards Estate and Letting Agency Team guidance have been removed. More ‘not known’ options have been added for when sellers do not know the answer. The explanatory notes have been rewritten to be clearer and more accessible, with better signposting and useful examples.

A fifth edition of the TA7 leasehold information form is also being unveiled today which, along with the TA6 (sixth edition) will be mandatory for Conveyancing Quality Scheme members from 30 March.

Property information captured by the TA6 form could be part of a long list of details sellers may have to provide at the point of listing under reforms announced by the government last week to reduce ‘inefficiencies’ in the current home buying and selling system.
