
Emergency services were called to Newton Street, Millom, at around 9.20pm on Wednesday (November 5) after reports of a fire at a domestic property.
Crews from Bootle and Millom Fire Stations attended and found the hallway of the property ‘well alight’. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet and thermal imaging camera to bring the fire under control.
A spokesperson for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said the incident was at a domestic property and had been handed over to police once the fire was extinguished.
Fire crews were in attendance for around an hour.
A Cumbria Police spokesperson said: “Police were called at 9:21pm yesterday (Nov 5) to the report of a fire at a property on Newton Street, Millom.
“Cumbria Fire and Rescue service were also in attendance.
“Investigations are ongoing into the fire are ongoing.
