Equity Fund Inflows Grow 8% in February, Showing Investor Resilience
Swapnil Aggarwal, Director, VSRK Capital, writes:
The latest AMFI data for February indicates that equity mutual fund inflows increased by around 8% month-on-month to ₹25,977 crore, reflecting continued participation from retail investors despite ongoing market volatility. While the rise in inflows is a positive sign, it is still lower than earlier peaks, as investor sentiment has been somewhat cautious. Over the past 18 months, markets have largely delivered muted returns, which has led some investors to redeem funds and adopt a more defensive approach. Additionally, global uncertainties such as geopolitical tensions and trade-related developments have contributed to short-term nervousness in the markets.
However, the fact that inflows have still grown in such a volatile environment highlights that investors remain interested in equities and are willing to take calculated risks. Compared to the strong inflows of around ₹30,000 crore seen earlier, current numbers are slightly lower, indicating a temporary pause in sentiment. As market stability improves and confidence returns, equity mutual fund inflows could strengthen further in the coming months

Vaibhav Chugh, CEO, Abakkus Mutual Fund on the ‘AMFI Data’.
‘The interest in equity markets and investment products continues. Though the markets have been volatile because of geo-political situation however the investors have become more aware about valuation corrections and thus SMID continue to attract flows. The flows in hybrid, Gold ETFs reflect that investors want to simultaneously hedge portfolios, which in general is a way to hedge against global volatility. However, after a massive January Gold ETF flows, it appears that some money is rotating back to equities because of equity price corrections. The overall AUM has crossed 82000 Crs, a testament to the deepening of financialization of Indian savings. Despite February having fewer days which slightly impacted the SIP, the underlying sentiment remains robust with folio growth.’

Nitin Agrawal, CEO, Mutual Funds, InCred Money, on the AMFI data for February 2026.
The standout takeaway from February’s AMFI data is the resilience of equity inflows despite ongoing market volatility. Categories like Flexi-cap, Mid-cap and Small-cap continued to attract meaningful allocations, a signal that investors are leaning into segments that have witnessed drawdowns and now offer relative value. Gold ETFs, which saw record inflows in January 2026, appear to have moderated, suggesting that some of that defensive positioning is unwinding and equity is regaining its appeal as the preferred vehicle for long-term wealth creation

Market analysis by Vikram Subburaj, CEO, Giottus.com
Bitcoin traded near $69,900 on the day and rose 4.1% over the past 24 hours. This is read as a tentative recovery after the volatility seen earlier in the week. The market continues to move within a relatively narrow consolidation band. Immediate support appears clustered between $68,000 and $68,500. These levels broadly coincide with the realised price range for many on-chain holders. A break below that band could expose a deeper demand zone between $65,000 and $66,500. On the upside, $70,000-$72,000 continues to act as a stubborn resistance corridor. The zone has repeatedly capped rallies in recent sessions. A decisive move above it could open the path toward $80,000, where on-chain supply appears comparatively thinner. The current structure reflects a cautiously constructive market. Buyers are attempting to test the ceiling even as traders remain wary of macro signals.
Network data indicates continued operational strength within the Bitcoin ecosystem. The hash rate has climbed to around 742 EH/s, while a 2.3% upward difficulty adjustment on March 8 marked the seventh consecutive increase. Larger wallets holding more than 1,000 BTC added roughly 0.3% to their balances during recent dips. This points to prudent accumulation during periods of weakness. On-chain data also indicates that more than 400,000 BTC changed hands in the $60,000-$70,000 band. Market activity has also remained elevated as trading volumes touched about $73 billion earlier in the week.
Institutional flows have also turned supportive. Spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds have seen around $1.7 billion in net inflows since late February. This reversed a stretch of outflows that lasted roughly four months. For the March 8-10 period, flows contributed to a weekly net inflow of about $568 million.
Major altcoins have broadly tracked Bitcoin’s upward move. According to data, Ethereum traded near $2,035 (+2.9%), while BNB gained roughly 3.3% to around $643. XRP advanced about 2.3% to $1.38. The large dollar-pegged stablecoins USDT and USDC remained anchored near $1. This reflects stable liquidity conditions across the market.
Macro developments remain a key variable in the near term. The U.S. consumer price index (CPI) data is due on March 11. The expectation of around 2.8% year-on-year core inflation could influence Federal Reserve policy. Additional signals may emerge from U.S. JOLTS labour data on March 13 and the Federal Reserve’s policy decision scheduled for March 18. The markets broadly anticipate a hold within the 3.50%-3.75% range.
Our advice: The $68,000-$70,000 zone is emerging as a key decision band where traders should avoid excessive leverage and focus on disciplined position sizing. Institutional ETF inflows and on-chain accumulation suggest underlying demand. But macro data such as U.S. inflation prints can still trigger short-term volatility. Investors should therefore prioritise staggered buying and risk management rather than chasing momentum.

Precious Metals Stabilise as Dollar Softens and War Concerns Ease: Renisha Chainani
Renisha Chainani, head of research at Augmont, writes:
· Safe Heaven Dynamics – Silver rebounded to around $90 after briefly slipping below $80 in the previous session, supported by a pullback in the US dollar. As expectations grew that the Iran conflict could end sooner than initially feared, safe-haven demand for the dollar eased, allowing precious metals to recover. While geopolitical tensions typically support bullion, the rapid shifts in risk sentiment have led to short-term volatility rather than a sustained safe-haven rally.
· Geopolitical Developments – US President Donald Trump indicated that the US military operation in Iran is nearing completion and progressing faster than the initial four-to-five-week timeline. He also signaled potential waivers on oil-related sanctions and plans for the US Navy to escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, aiming to stabilize oil flows and prevent a sharp spike in energy prices.
· Dollar Outlook – The U.S. Dollar Index had earlier strengthened due to safe-haven demand as the Middle East conflict and rising oil prices heightened concerns about economic disruption and inflation. Market participants are now focused on upcoming US inflation indicators, including the Consumer Price Index and the Personal Consumption Expenditures Price Index, which will provide further signals on inflation trends and potential monetary policy direction.
Technical Triggers
· Gold continues to maintain a bullish bias, with prices expected to move towards $5250 (~ ₹165,000) and $5300 (~ ₹167,000) in the near term. Strong support is seen around the $5000 (~ ₹158,500) level, which is likely to act as a key buying zone on any corrective dips.
· After achieving the target of $90, Silver also remains firmly supported and is continuing its upward momentum, with the next upside target seen around $95 (~ ₹285,000). On the downside, strong support is placed near $80 (~ ₹260,000), suggesting that any short-term corrections could attract fresh buying interest.

Several major Indian cement companies declined sharply in intraday trading, falling up to 7%, primarily due to concerns over operating margins from rising energy and fuel costs.
🔸Ramco Cements: Down 7% to ₹1,014.60
🔸JK Cement: Down 6% at ₹5,100
🔸UltraTech Cement: Down 5% at ₹11,350.40
🔸Birla Corporation: Down 5% at ₹822.85
🔸Shree Cement: Down 4% at ₹23,800
🔸India Cements: Down 5% at ₹362.90
