Pineapple Nest launches free property marketplace for Scottish homeowners – The Intermediary

Pineapple Nest has launched a free property marketplace for Scotland, letting homeowners sell without estate agents or fees.
Solo founder John Williamson set up the platform to help sellers list properties for free and connect with buyers directly.
Buyers post their requirements, including budget, location, bedrooms, and timeframe, so sellers can approach them before homes go on Rightmove or OnTheMarket.
Williamson said: “Pineapple Nest was created to simplify the property journey for both professionals and clients.
“Our goal is to bring greater transparency, efficiency, and accessibility to the UK property market through a modern, user-friendly platform.
“Estate agents in Scotland routinely charge between £3,000 and £8,000 to sell a home.”
Williamson added: “That’s money that should stay with the family, not go to a middleman. Pineapple Nest cuts the middleman out completely.
“It’s the opposite of how property portals work today. We start with the buyer, not the listing.
“Sellers don’t pay to advertise, buyers don’t pay to search, and nobody pays a percentage of the sale price.”
