Grosvenor Property UK appoints new CFO

Grosvenor Property UK (GPUK) has appointed Jonathan Rae as its new chief financial officer.

Rae will succeed Debbie Lee, who will transition into the role of Grosvenor chief financial officer later this summer following Rob Davis’s decision to retire.

Rae has almost two decades of finance leadership experience in the UK property sector across residential, retail, office and logistics, and joins GPUK from PLATFORM_ where he held the position of finance director from 2018.

Prior to PLATFORM_, Rae spent 11 years at British Land, holding a number of finance leadership roles, including head of retail finance and head of investor relations.

Jamie Whitty-Lewis, chief executive of Grosvenor Property UK, said: “I am delighted to welcome Jonathan to Grosvenor. He is an exceptional finance leader with deep sector experience and a strong understanding of how capital, operations and long-term stewardship come together to create resilient property businesses. His track record of working with institutional partners and scaling complex portfolios will be invaluable as we continue to deliver our growth strategy and invest for the long term.”

Rae added: “I am delighted to be joining Grosvenor Property UK at such an important moment for the business. GPUK has a clear long-term strategy, a strong culture and a distinctive approach to creating and managing places. I am looking forward to working with the Grosvenor team and supporting the business’ next phase of growth and investment.”

PLATFORM_ has appointed Matt Garner as Rae’s replacement. Garner, who has 13 years’ experience of real estate CFO roles, most recently worked at Praxis Real Estate Management.

Jean-Marc Vandevivere, CEO of PLATFORM_ said: “I’m very pleased to welcome Matt to the executive team at PLATFORM_ and excited about the new skills and experience he brings to support the continued growth of the business as we deliver our development pipeline, acquire new opportunities and grow our management services. At the same time, we’re sorry to see Jon leave after he has contributed so much to the development of our business since joining in 2018. He has been a trusted partner to me and many others across the business. We wish him all the very best in his new role.”

Garner added: “PLATFORM_ has a strong track record of delivering high quality homes at scale, creating both an exceptional resident experience and long‑term value for investment partners. I’m delighted to join the team at an exciting stage, as the business continues to grow and deliver its development pipeline, while continuing to expand its operating platform, including into third-party management.”

Rae said: “It’s been a privilege to work with the exceptionally talented team at PLATFORM_ over the last eight years. The real estate sector has faced a number of seismic challenges over this period but at PLATFORM_ we always found a way to keep delivering new homes and growing our service offering under the PLATFORM_ brand. This is down to the ingenuity and dedication of the people at PLATFORM_ as well as an unwavering focus on building relationships over the long term.”
