AP SIPB clears new investments worth ₹9,076 crore

Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) has on Tuesday approved investment proposals involving a total investment of ₹9,076 crore across sectors.

The approved projects approved in the SIPB meeting chaired by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in Amaravati are expected to generate over 10,000 jobs. 

The tourism and hospitality sector accounted for several projects, including DSR Hospitality Services’ ₹139 crore four-star hotel in Nellore, Madhavi Leisure & Stays’ ₹52 crore three-star hotel in YSR Kadapa, Srinivasam Amusement Pvt. Ltd.’s ₹68.69-crore integrated amusement park in Kadapa, and Vajra Hospitality LLP’s ₹62 crore hotel, banquet and exhibition centre in Vijayawada.

In the logistics sector, Nexus Integrated Logistics Park (NILP) will invest ₹255 crore to establish an integrated logistics park at Chinna Ettipaka in Tirupati district, while Eco Box Industrials Asset IV Pvt. Ltd., a Google warehouse partner, will invest ₹1,008 crore in a logistics and light industrial park in Visakhapatnam.

Among the major industrial investments, Akshat Greentech Pvt. Ltd. received approval for a ₹1,600-crore solar cell and module manufacturing unit at Parawada in Anakapalli district, while Berry Alloys Ltd. will invest ₹1,200 crore in an integrated manganese sinter, direct reduced iron (DRI) and carbon paste plant at the Bobbili Growth Centre.

The board also cleared Geo Mysore India Pvt. Ltd.’s ₹689-crore Swarnagiri Gold Mining Project at Tuggali Mandal in Kurnool district, Mondelez India Foods Pvt. Ltd.’s ₹1,801-crore food processing unit at Sri City in Tirupati district, and an Adani Foundation project at Kapuluppada in Visakhapatnam district involving an investment of ₹2,200 crore.

Visitor engagement

Speaking on occasion, Naidu directed the officials to examine the feasibility of setting up 100 Experience Centres at major tourist destinations, including Thimmamma Marrimanu, to enhance visitor engagement.The iconic locations such as Polavaram, Dindi, Gandikota, Kambham Cheruvu and Lambasingi should be developed into world-class tourism destinations, he said. 

The Jindal Group has expressed interest in establishing a resort near Lambasingi and Araku, signalling growing private sector interest in the State’s tourism potential, Naidu said adding that the handicrafts, cultural heritage and products of the State including those from from Etikoppaka, Kondapalli, Dharmavaram, Mangalagiri, Uppada and Ponduru should be showcased globally., according to a release.
