Milatović with Madbouly: Stronger trade exchange and new investments with Egypt

Agreements on economic cooperation and tourism with Egypt are expected to be signed as soon as possible, so that political agreements can be translated into concrete projects, stronger trade exchange and new investments as soon as possible, Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović announced.

He met in Cairo with Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly, with whom he discussed concrete opportunities for stronger linkages between the economies of the two countries and the implementation of agreements reached during his official visit to Egypt.

“The focus of the talks was on improving trade, attracting investment and connecting business communities, as well as developing cooperation in the areas of tourism, transport, trade, agriculture, sustainable development, culture and education,” the statement said.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of the Memorandum between the Port Authority of Montenegro and the Port Authority of Alexandria, which opens up space for stronger connections between the Port of Bar and the Port of Alexandria, the development of new maritime and trade routes and better positioning of Montenegro in the markets of Egypt, Africa and the Middle East.

“Political agreements gain their full value when they become concrete projects, business connections and new opportunities for citizens and the economy. That is why we want to translate today’s talks into measurable results, greater trade exchange, new investments and stronger connections between companies in Montenegro and Egypt,” said Milatović.

The meeting with Madbouly represents, as it is concluded, an important step in the operationalization of agreements reached at the highest political level and confirms the common intention that the new chapter in relations between Montenegro and Egypt be accompanied by concrete economic results, stronger trade exchange and a greater presence of the two countries’ economies in their markets.
