PE-VC investments jump 85% to $3 billion in July on infrastructure deals

Private Equity-Venture Capital (PE-VC) investments saw a sharp rebound in July 2026, rising to $3 billion across 94 deals, up 85 per cent from $1.63 billion across 95 deals in June, as per data from research firm Venture Intelligence.

Core sectors such as infrastructure and renewable energy led the charge this month.

On a year-on-year basis, however, investments declined 6 per cent from $3.2 billion across 114 deals in July 2025.

Overall, PE-VC investments in the January-July period in 2026 stood at around $20.3 billion across 756 deals, as against $21.5 billion across 787 deals in the same period last year.

Mega deals drive monthly investment surge

In July, the value of mega deals (over $100 million) rose to $1.97 billion across 8 deals, compared with $2.25 billion invested in 7 such deals in the same month last year.

The largest investment in July 2026 was the $600 million renewable energy platform launched by global investment firm Brookfield. PE firm TPG, alongside co-investors GIC and ICICI Bank, acquired a 100 per cent stake in Aseem Infra Finance for $525 million, and Edelweiss Private Equity secured two highways from the National Highways Authority of India for $235 million, which were among the other major deals.

Early-stage funding gains momentum

Meanwhile, Investments in early-stage companies rose to $263 million in July 2026, up from $187 million in July 2025. Late-stage investments corrected sharply to $480 million from $795 million.

The average early-stage deal size nearly doubled to $7 million, up from $4 million. For the growth stage, it went up to $19 million ($10 million), and for the late stage, it dropped to $27 million ($38 million).
