A Singaporean model turned property millionaire has brokered the sale of hundreds of Manchester flats to Asian investors.
Germaine Chow, who founded Singapore-based property agent Crestbrick, has bought up luxury apartments in skyscrapers that received hundreds of millions of pounds in taxpayer loans.
As well as claiming to have bought 500 flats in Manchester herself, Ms Chow has helped hundreds of other buy-to-let Singaporean landlords buy into British taxpayer-backed developments.
This was achieved through a partnership between Crestbrick and Renaker, a northern developer that received more than £500m in loans from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA) while Andy Burnham was chairman.
Renaker used this money to help build a string of lavish tower blocks across Manchester, delivering thousands of high-end apartments.
However, rather than being sold to local buyers, The Telegraph can reveal that hundreds were bought up by high net-worth investors in Singapore.
Crestbrick claims to have facilitated the sale of flats in six Renaker developments, including The Blade, which received £32m from the GMCA, and Three60, a cylindrical skyscraper that was handed £62m.
