Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets are under pressure yet again. The Nifty is down close to 100 points, falling below the 23,700 mark on this Nifty expiry day. The Nifty Bank is down 130 points, falling below 57,000. Shriram Fin, Tech Mahindra and Mahindra and Mahindra are the top laggards.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian market is once again under the pump, even as the Nifty 50 index falls by close to 100 points in today’s weekly expiry session despite having broken every possible support level on the upside. The Nifty 50 index is now below the 23,700 mark.
From the August 3 high of 24,774, the index is down exactly 1,000 points. From the 24,350 levels, the index has broken below 24,200, 24,000 and now closed below the 23,800 mark as well.
The bulls would first look to reclaim 23,800 and sustain above it, before a move towards 24,000. While the Nifty continues to break key supports, the Nifty Bank has somehow managed to hold on to levels of 57,000 on the downside and that range will remain until a break in either direction.
Two headwinds – one, Brent remains near $98 a barrel and is headed towards $100 for the third time this year, and two, the spate of IPOs continue with three more opening for subscription today.
