Donald Trump says his stock market activity has generated “hundreds of billions of dollars” for the United States, not for his personal gain. The president made the claim on September 6 in a Truth Social post that was made during a lengthy spree of AI-generated content shared across his social media accounts.

“I do this for our Country, not myself. I’ve made Hundreds of Billions of Dollars on Stocks, and many other type Holdings, for the U.S.A., not myself, and all I do is get criticized by the Radical Left Dumocrats. Very unfair, but what can you do!” Trump wrote.
The president supplied no documentation or data to verify what he claimed. Still, his administration has directed substantial public investments into American companies. CNBC reports that the government purchased a 10 percent stake in Intel, the semiconductor manufacturer, in August 2025. That holding has since appreciated significantly and now carries an estimated value of $50 billion.
Trump accompanied his post with an AI-generated photo showing him seated in the Oval Office behind multiple computer monitors displaying stock market charts. It fit a pattern. Over more than 10 hours on Sunday, the president shared dozens of posts, many featuring visuals that appeared to be generated or altered through artificial intelligence tools.
Moreover, the stock market statement also lands while Trump faces questions about Truth API, a premium feature offered through Truth Social. The service charges subscribers up to $100,000 per month for early access to select administration announcements.
Lawmakers and watchdog groups have voiced concerns that paying customers could receive market-moving government information before the general public. In July, several senators asked the Securities and Exchange Commission to review whether Trump Media, the parent company of Truth Social, violated federal securities laws by operating the service. Previously, his family came under the scrutiny radar when the president’s financial disclosure was revealed.
