Superdrug has expanded and refurbished its store at Merry Hill in the West Midlands, making it the largest store in the retailer’s UK estate.

The store, which now occupies 12,831 sq ft, will create 15 new permanent roles, alongside 10 seasonal positions over the Christmas period.
The investment forms part of Superdrug’s wider expansion plan to open 30 new stores across the UK this year.

“As Merry Hill continues to evolve, the unveiling of the UK’s largest Superdrug store demonstrates our commitment to delivering an increasingly compelling offer for visitors, and the growing appeal of the destination for best-in-class retailers.”
Redical acquired the West Midlands shopping centre earlier this year, for a price understood to be in the region of £280m, from a consortium of banks that took over the centre following the collapse of previous owner intu in 2020.
