Stock Market News From Sept. 25, 2026: Dow, S&P 500, Nasdaq Rise as Bond Yields Fall; Nvidia, Tesla, Micron, Akamai, and More Movers

It was a rollercoaster of a week on Wall Street, but stocks closed Friday’s session higher and managed to climb for the week despite the bond yields rising to multi-year highs.
The S&P 500 gained 0.5% on Friday. The Nasdaq rose 0.5%. Both indexes were green for the week, increasing 1.2% and 2.1%, respectively. The Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.9%, or 478 points. The Dow increased 0.3% for the week. All three indexes saw their largest weekly gains since August.
Friday’s equity moves were sparked by reports of potential progress in U.S.-Iran talks. Oil futures ended the week lower, while the Treasury market weakened with bond yields moving higher.
“In spite of much higher interest rates, in spite of a 10-year treasury yield at 5.2%, in spite of oil prices averaging closer to $90 plus a barrel here in the US … I think the market can kind of continue to shrug that off as long as it can believe that it’s transitory,” says U.S. Bank’s Rob Haworth.
That will be the stock market’s next big test, with investors looking for signs of progress out of Iran.
