HE became a household name through helping the UK save money, so it’s no surprise that Martin Lewis has racked up his own fair share of funds.
He and wife Lara Lewington have also amassed an impressive property empire. But latest accounts show the MoneySavingExpert has offloaded a whopping £5million of real estate from his existing empire
Martin and fellow broadcaster Lara have upped their net worth by buying and investing in property in upmarket Cheshire towns via their firm, Osmium Estates Limited.
In 2021, Martin’s property empire was worth an impressive £18million as a result.
But that figure has now fallen to £13.3million, according to accounts filed with Companies House this week.
And it seems falling property prices are not to blame.
The latest accounts show £2million of property was sold in 2025, following further sales in previous years – no doubt at a tidy profit.
His balance sheet also shows borrowings of £12.7million for 2025 – down from £14.2million the previous year.
Martin and Lara have invested millions in prime property in upmarket Cheshire towns including Wilmslow and Knutsford.
Osmium Estates Limited also had £641,000 in cash deposits.
The couple named the firm after osmium, a rare metal in the same chemical group as platinum.
Martin, who went to the same Cheshire school as former Health Secretary Matt Hancock, is estimated to be worth around an impressive £130million.
He founded MoneySavingExpert.com in 2003, reportedly starting the site with around £80, and agreed to sell it to MoneySupermarket in 2012 for up to £87million.
The deal comprised £60million upfront, with a further £27million dependent on performance targets.
Now, Martin is a regular on This Morning and has his own ITV show, The Martin Lewis Money Show.
He also has a podcast on BBC Radio 5 Live.
As well as their property empire, Martin and Lara reside in a plush London home with their teenage daughter.
Notoriously private, the couple rarely reveal pictures of their homes. But during lockdown the couple shared their respective home studios as both were broadcasting from their shared house.
Lara – who he dubs Mrs MSE – had an upstairs office featured a black velvet chair with a silver sequin cushion where show could present her BBC technology show Click.
Meanwhile, downstairs in Martin’s office he has a neon sign behind his desk that reads “MLMS” – for Martin Lewis Money Show.
