Is the stock market open on Monday for Columbus Day 2026?


Columbus Day 2026, which is also known as Indigenous Peoples’ Day in some communities, is observed on Monday, Oct. 12.

Although many businesses and government services, such as banks and the U.S. Postal Service, remain closed for Columbus Day, the stock market is an exception to the rule.

Bond markets, on the other hand, will remain closed.

Is the New York Stock Exchange open on Columbus Day?

Unlike banks and the post office, the New York Stock Exchange will be open on Monday, Oct. 12.

The NYSE usually remains open on Columbus Day despite it being a federal holiday.

Is Nasdaq open on Columbus Day?

Nasdaq will also be open on Monday. Nasdaq will not be closed again until Thanksgiving 2026.
