These Are the 100 Priciest Zip Codes in the United States

For the first time ever, a U.S. ZIP code has recorded a median home sale price above $10 million. Atherton, California, a Silicon Valley enclave popular with tech executives, reclaimed the top spot in PropertyShark’s annual ranking of the country’s 100 most expensive ZIP codes, with a median sale price of $10.73 million, up a whopping 29 percent from last year. That’s a reversal from 2025, when Miami Beach’s Fisher Island took the crown for the first time.

Sagaponack, New York, moved into second place after its median sale price jumped 24 percent to $7.35 million, making it New York State’s most expensive ZIP code for the 10th time. Fisher Island fell to third, with its median dropping 24 percent to $7.22 million, down from $9.5 million last year.

California still dominates the list, accounting for 57 percent of the country’s most expensive ZIP codes, down from a peak of 73 percent in 2019. For the first time, the Bay Area tied with the New York metro region for the most ZIP codes on the list, with 31 apiece. The New York metro accounted for a record 25 percent of entries.

The Hamptons helped fuel that growth. Bridgehampton’s median sale price more than doubled, climbing 114 percent to a new record. Suffolk County, which includes the Hamptons, contributed a record 10 ZIP codes to the ranking, three of them in the top 10.

New Jersey also had a record year, with seven ZIP codes making the list. Alpine led the state at $4.38 million, while Stone Harbor topped $3 million for the first time, reaching $3.13 million. Six of the state’s seven ZIP codes hit record prices; Deal was the exception, dropping to $2.65 million.

Meanwhile, Newport Beach, California, remained the country’s most expensive city, with all six of its residential ZIP codes making the list. Four reached record prices, led by Newport Coast, where the median rose nearly 20 percent. Brentwood in Los Angeles, by contrast, saw its median fall 27 percent to $2.3 million.

In New England, Connecticut maintained its lead over Massachusetts, with seven ZIP codes on the list. Massachusetts had the region’s two most expensive ZIP codes, led by Nantucket at $3.6 million, while New Hampshire placed two ZIP codes for the first time.

Coastal living remains a common thread. Of the 122 ZIP codes that made the ranking, including ties, 72 were within five miles of the coast. Twelve of the 15 states represented reached record prices, including Washington, Nevada, and New Jersey.

The price of entry has climbed considerably over the past decade, PropertyShark finding prices rose in more than two-thirds of the country’s priciest ZIP codes.. A $2.22 million median sale price was the minimum to make this year’s list, 69 percent higher than in 2016. Nine ZIP codes topped $5 million, while 52 recorded median prices of at least $3 million.
