Porto Montenegro’s announcements of new projects and investment plans represent an important signal to other renowned international investors, said the Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordić.
At a meeting with the newly appointed executive director of Porto Montenegro, Andrea Eggers, she discussed the further development of Montenegro’s tourism offer, investment potential and opportunities for the implementation of new projects in the tourism sector.
During the meeting, Eggers emphasized that the Interregional Forum of Europe and Asia and the investment conference, which the Ministry of Tourism implemented in cooperation with the United Nations, were extremely fruitful, and congratulated Kordić on the successful organization of an event of great importance for the international positioning of Montenegro and the presentation of its investment potential.
She assessed that Montenegro has significant potential and opportunities for new investments and further development, which makes it an attractive destination for international investors.
Kordić particularly pointed out the significant, yet underutilized investment potential of the northern region of Montenegro, which offers numerous opportunities for the development of new tourist attractions and sustainable valorization of natural resources.
She also stated that MICE tourism, i.e. congress and business tourism, as well as health tourism, represent areas with significant room for new investments, especially considering Montenegro’s strategic commitment to developing a diverse tourism offer and positioning itself as a year-round tourist destination.
The interlocutors concluded that continuous dialogue between the public and private sectors, attracting quality investments and developing new tourism products are important prerequisites for further growth in competitiveness and sustainable development of Montenegrin tourism.
