Investment fund acquires 50% of coffee chain at NIS 150 million valuation

Huge deal in the restaurant sector: Green Lantern investment fund is acquiring half (50%) of the Cafe Gan Sipur Group, at an estimated market valuation of NIS 150 million. The partners in the group – Bernardo Blachovicz, Asaf Illuz, and Nissim Ben Simon – will continue to hold ownership of the remaining shares and manage the chain.

The Cafe Gan Sipur Group currently consists of 12 restaurants, all of which are located in Israel’s most beautiful parks, including in Holon, Herzliya, Rishon Lezion, and Ness Ziona. The group’s first restaurant originally opened in Holon. For Blachovicz, one of the founders of Pizza Meter, this marks a significant closing of a circle: After the closure of the pizzeria chain in the past and recovering from bankruptcy, he rebuilt himself and established the restaurant group.

Following the deal, the group plans a significant expansion wave, during which it is expected to double its number of branches. As part of the development plans, the chain is expected to open restaurants for the first time in Tel Aviv and Lod as well.

Cafe Gan Sipur Group stated in response: “We are eagerly awaiting the approval of the Antitrust Commissioner.”
