A known burglary suspect was arrested Wednesday after he allegedly stole currency from a coin-operated air machine in Newhall earlier this month.
Around 7:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 1, deputies responded to the 24800 block of Pico Canyon Road in Newhall for a burglary report, said Deputy Kabrina Borbon, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
“It was reported that the suspect broke and damaged the air machine and stole currency from it,” Borbon said. “The suspect also broke into a shed, damaging it.”
Eric Cornell, 34, from Valencia, was later located and arrested for felony burglary, according to Sheriff’s officials.
Cornell was booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.
Cornell has been arrested in the past for theft in the Santa Clarita Valley.
In February of 2021, Cornell was arrested on a slew of felonies after being found in possession of stolen copper valves as well as credit cards and checks not in his name, according to officials.
