Nandyal Court Sentences Two to 7 Years Rigorous Imprisonment in Counterfeit Currency Circulation Case | Amaravati News
TIRUPATI: The principal assistant sessions court at Nandyal sentenced two accused involved in a counterfeit currency circulation case to undergo seven years rigorous imprisonment on Friday.
According to the Nandyal police, Dudekula Raju (35) and Dudekula Srinivasulu (32) were arrested by the Nandyal III town police on charges of circulating and exchanging counterfeit currencies at an exhibition mela at SPG grounds at Nandyal on 18th January 2017.
As the charges against them were proved beyond any doubt during the trial by the public prosecutor K Lakshmi Narayana based on the chargesheet filed by the investigating officer Ismail, the principal assistant sessions court judge B Radha Rani pronounced the judgement in the case and sentenced the two accused to 7 years rigourous imprisonment and levied a fine of Rs.20000 on each convict.
Nandyal SP K Raghuveer Reddy attributed that the focus on conviction based trial monitoring system introduced by DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy was yielding good results.
