Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex ended the previous trade session in the red. Nifty 50 closed at 22,119.30, while Sensex ended at 73,085.94.
Overnight, Wall Street indices crashed post Trump tariffs. The S&P 500 ended 1.8% lower, the Dow Jones dropped 650 points and the Nasdaq Composite was down 2.7%. Asian equities too declined in early trade today.
US President Donald Trump confirmed the 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico would take effect on March 4 as both countries could not negotiate a reprieve.
Meanwhile, OPEC+ will proceed with its plans to revive halted oil production after repeated delays, amid pressure from Trump to lower the oil rates.
Nifty has been fighting to remain above 22,000, which at a point seemed unlikely in the previous trade session. Monday’s low of 22,004 is the first line of defence on the downside for bulls today, whose first task will be to surpass the previous day’s high of 22,260.
IEX, IndiGrid Investment, ASK Automotive, REC, RBL Bank, NAVA, Godrej Properties, Intellect Design Arena, Uno Minda, are among the stocks in focus today.
