Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Nifty Bank record high, crossing the 57,300 mark for the first time. On the final trading day of the week, the second-last trading day of the month and for the April-June quarter as well, the Nifty index has started the day on a fairly cautious note, contrary to the gap-up suggested by GIFT Nifty. The index is around 25,550. The Sensex is also trading with marginal gains of about 50 points.
In addition, Nifty Bank record high, crossing the 57,300 mark for the first time.
The main focus of the day is on the all-important AkzoNobel sale to JSW Paints. The shares of JSW Holdings and AkzoNobel rose in the early hours of Friday.
The markets closed for the day yesterday, with the Nifty is now 700 points away from the September 27, 2024, record high level of 26,277. The broader markets, which underperformed the Nifty surge on Thursday, would also be aiming to reverse that trend.
A major trigger today will be the NSE indices rebalancing, which will take place later in the session. Stocks like ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank (which closed at a record high), will see inflows.
Today is also the final day of HDB Financial Services’ IPO, which was fully subscribed on the second day of bidding. Watch for any potential block deals with the trading window closure in two days time.
