Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian markets are trading on a jittery terrain, with the Nifty and Sensex, along with the small-cap and mid-cap indices, trading with limited movement. Here FMCG stocks are in focus.
The Nifty is hovering around the 25,450 mark, while the Sensex index is also trading flat around 83,450. At the Nifty end, Trent, Asian Paints, and HDFC Life are the stocks trading in green with gains of under 1%.
Here, post the Q1 updates; the FMCG took charge, gaining in the early hours of the trading session. Dabur and Godrej Consumer shares jumped.
Meanwhile, the defence stocks that have roared in the past declined on Monday, with Paras Defence, BEL among the stocks trading low. Vaibhav Global shares rose by 7%
This comes as India prepares itself for the deadline of Trump’s reciprocal tariffs, on June 9. However, the Trump administration had added to the uncertainties by saying that tariffs would go back to April levels on August 1.
In addition to the lean showing of the benchmark indices so far, the broader markets are also moving at a similar pace with diminished intensity.
