Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The markets look to be en route to recovery after being battered by the bears, as the Nifty index trades with a fall of close to 100 points, trading around 23,800. The Nifty Bank is also recovering, now down 300 points, falling to the 55,000 mark. Eternal, Indigo and M&M are among the top losers.
The Nifty is trading below Monday’s low of 23,697.
The Brent crude is now back above $100 per barrel, despite the IEA and the US deciding to release emergency reserves into the market.
Dow futures are down over 500 points, and the US dollar continues to strengthen. For the Nifty, Monday’s low of 23,697 is key; below it, analysts fear a drop to 23,300-23,200.
Today is also the weekly expiry of the Sensex contracts. The rising oil prices put oil sensitivities back in the spotlight, as well as those companies which are facing a shortage of gas supply.
Some of the biggest losers in today’s trade include Hexaware Tech, Astral, IndusInd Bank, FACT, Apollo Tyres and Amber Enterprises among others.
