Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty has started Thursday’s trade on a muted note as it enters into its weekly options expiry session on the back of six straight days of gains.
This comes after Donald Trump’s announcement of a potential trade deal with China that resulted in a tepid response from Wall Street.
After starting on a muted note, the Indian benchmark indices soon slumped into red, thereby indicating volatility in the market, amid weak global cues.
The Nifty has started Thursday’s trade on a muted note as it enters into its weekly options expiry session on the back of six straight days of gains.
This comes after Donald Trump’s announcement of a potential trade deal with China that resulted in a tepid response from Wall Street.
The Nifty 50 index opened at 25,164.45, ahead of its previous day closing of 25,141.40. The index opened for the day’s trade 1,112.9 points away from its all-time high.
The Sensex index also started higher at 82,571.67, compared to its previous closing.
The Nifty Bank opened in green with minor gains. The banking index started the day at 56,480.90 while trading with gains of over 0.19%.
The shares of Paytm slumped by over 10% after FM’s MDR clarification. In addition, the shares of MapMyIndia parent CE Info System also slumped after 8.6 lakh shares (5.3% Equity) changed hands at ₹1,813.70/Sh.
