Stock Markets LIVE on Thursday, July 11: Benchmarks Nifty50 and Sensex were trading lower on Thursday ahead of TCS 1 results. The weekly Nifty futures & options expiry also weighed on the sentiment.
The BSE Sensex hit a low of 79,464, and was down 200 points at 79,730 levels. The Nifty50 was seen testing the 24,300 level for the second straight day.
Tata Motors, ITC and Tata Steel were the top gainers among the Sensex 30 pack. On the other hand, Nestle India, Bajaj Finance, NTPC and Sun Pharma were the top laggards. The overall market breadth too was positive, with more than 2,100 stocks advancing as against 1,660 declining stocks on the BSE. In the broader market shares of shipping firms, and individually, RVNL and YES Bank were stealing the limelight.
