Stocks dip as the UK and EU reach deal ahead of summit

Gold prices climbed on Monday, buoyed by a fresh wave of safe-haven buying following Moody’s decision to downgrade the US credit rating and renewed trade tensions out of Washington. Gold futures (GC=F) climbed 1.4% to $3,232.70 per ounce at the time of writing, while the spot gold price rose 0.8% to $3,229.61 per ounce.
