Approval for PD conversion of former Johnson & Johnson offices

Permitted Development plans to convert the former offices of Johnson & Johnson in Crowthorne to 109 flats have been approved.

Legal & General Assurance (Pensions Management)’s prior approval application for the conversion of the building at Pinewood Campus in Nine Mile Ride was approved by officers at Wokingham Borough Council.

Cllr Seona Turtle objected to the proposal, saying it constituted ad hoc residential development in the countryside, something the council opposes in its South Wokingham Strategic Development Location.

Cllr Turtle asked that other buildings on the campus are protected from residential conversion including the Pinewood Sanitorium Chapel which is on consecrated ground.

The team on the project included PMV Planning as planning consultant, i-Transport as transport consultant and Tetra Tech on flood risk.
