Britain’s Most Expensive Streets, According To Rightmove

Rightmove has revealed Britain’s most expensive streets for 2024, with Buckingham Gate in Westminster topping the list.

Famously home to royalty, new research by the property portal found that the esteemed residential area has an average asking price of £9,633,333. Taking second place for the priciest street is Vicarage Gate in Holland Park (£6,332,000), followed by Park Road in St John’s Wood, with an average of £5,814,286.

Outside of the city, Old Avenue in Weybridge, Surrey, is currently the most expensive street to buy a home (£2,633,333). Completing the list is The Ridgeway in Herefordshire (£2,289,286), Manor Road in Essex (£2,219,444), Swithland Lane in Leicester (£2,024,000), and Norsey Road, also in Essex (£1,800,000).

Holland Park took the second spot

Elsewhere, sale searches for prestigious London boroughs are also up, with areas such as Mayfair, St John’s Wood and Holland Park all seeing an increase in sales this year.

When it comes to renting, the most expensive street is Albion Street in Bayswater, West London (rent will set you back £20,857 per month). This is closely followed by Pavilion Road in Knightsbridge (£15,251) and Duke Street in Mayfair (£14,441).

‘London’s status as the hub of luxury property in the UK remains unchallenged, with Buckingham Gate in Westminster commanding the highest average asking price,’ says Tim Bannister, Rightmove’s property expert.

‘Although the possibility of buying one of these homes is limited to a very lucky few, there’s clearly a fascination with these prestigious homes as we find they’re often among our most viewed properties on Rightmove.’
