Crews tackle fire at property in Radford Road, Crawley


West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service attended the incident in Radford Road, Crawley, yesterday, April 4, just after 10pm. 

The road was closed while crews battled to extinguish the blaze.

One person was advised to seek medical attention due to smoke inhalation, the fire service reported.

A spokesman for West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called at 10.09pm to reports of a fire involving a domestic property on Radford Road, Crawley.​

“Joint fire control mobilised five fire engines to the scene and the road was closed.

“Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used four hose reels and a jet to bring the fire under control.

“Residents living nearby were urged to keep their windows and doors closed due to smoke in the area. ​

“We encouraged people to avoid the vicinity to allow firefighters to work safely.

“The last crew left the scene at 12.10am.”
