Following a burglary at a rural property, three birds may have been injured in the forced entry into the property.
Between 10pm on Sunday April 13 and 7am on Monday April 14, three aviaries were broken into, and two peregrine falcons and a peregrine lanner falcon hybrid were stolen or escaped during the incident. At least three peregrine eggs were stolen from an artificial nest.
(Image: Dorset Police) Police are now appealing for information from anyone who may know anything about the incident.
PC Sebastian Haggett, from Dorset Rural Crime Team, said: “Evidence at the scene suggests at least one bird is likely to have significant injuries to its wings and we are working hard to get it home so that it can receive veterinary care.
“We are releasing pictures of birds that look similar and a peregrine egg for reference. I am asking if anyone has any information to get in contact quoting the reference number below”
