Hackney house prices: Average house prices rise by £1,000


Hackney is one of the most expensive areas to buy a property in the entirety of the UK.

The latest data from the government department reveals that in November 2023 average house prices in Hackney reached £617,169.

This was up from £615,288 in October, representing a 0.3 per cent increase. In the last 12 months it has fallen by -3.6 per cent.

  • Semi-detached houses – Down to £1,109,213 from £1,116,567 in October
  • Terraced houses – Down to £932,870 from £939,021 in October
  • Flats – Up to £559,557 from £556,252 in October

Even when comparing Hackney to the picture across the UK, the area is far above the UK average with a typical property value in the nations reaching £284,950 in November.

In cash terms, the average house price in November was £-6,142 lower than a year earlier with house price growth decelerating to -2.1 per cent in November 2023. Prices were down by -0.8 per cent month on month.
