At a property on Sway Road in Pennington, the extra building will be constructed to ‘enclose’ an existing pool and will be fitted with its own boiler.
Plans show that the property already has a private roundabout, long driveaway and separate garage.
The pool house will be the third building on the premises and has been seen as lawful by New Forest Borough Council under permitted development rules.
A planning officer’s report on the pool house said: “The applicant has confirmed that the building and pool would be used by the family as incidental to the main dwelling and not for any business use.
“The proposed building would be sizeable in its footprint however it would have a modest
height and finished with a flat roof. Therefore it would appear subservient to the dwelling
to which it would serve.”
