Samuel Leeds shared a video of himself chain-sawing the front door of a house and kicking it in to ‘evict tenants’, but some viewers claim it was all a hoax to gain attention
A multi-millionaire property mogul has shared a video of himself allegedly evicting a tenant with a chainsaw for “fun”. Samuel Leeds, co-owner at Property Tribes, a private forum for landlords, went onto X to share a video clip of him cutting a huge hole in the PVC front door of one of his properties.
He made his fortune after growing up on a council estate in Walsall in the West Midlands. Now he employs a personal assistant, a cleaner and a full-time live-in nanny to ensure he has as much time as possible to focus on his portfolio, which includes the impressive Ribblesford House castle.
The landlord said: “Today, I had to evict somebody out of my property with a chainsaw. If they were at a hotel and refused to check out, security would break entry within the hour.
“My lawyer suggested I send a certified bailiff, but I figured it was more fun doing it myself.” In a tweet, Samuel Leeds shared a video of himself chain-sawing the door and kicking it in, and wrote: “This is what happens when you stop paying and refuse to leave my property. Sue me. You’re a guest and have no rights.”
In the clip, Samuel can be seen cutting a rectangular shape into the door, before booting it through. One person commented: “Why’s the door so flimsy? Oh yeah, because you’re a landlord, meaning you’re leech on society who provides the bare minimum in housing.”
Another wrote: “Tenants have rights. They aren’t guests. They are people who pay you rent.”
Another insinuated it was all just a scam, writing: “Do all your properties have cardboard doors?” Likewise, someone else wrote: “Lol there’s no-one even in there, lad just chopped up his cheap door to try and get internet famous.”
Another added: “God this is Andrew Tate level embarrassing. About the same level of grifting, too.”
But according to the housing charity Shelter, “illegal eviction is a criminal offence”. It defined an illegal eviction as when “your landlord or anyone acting on their behalf: forces you to leave by threatening or harassing you; kicks you out or uses physical force to make you leave; stops you from getting into parts of your home or changes the locks while you’re out.”
In response to the clip, one man wrote: “Imagine doing that to your own door, whilst committing a crime.”
