‘Stunning work’ people praise woman who took rundown council house & turned it into ‘gorgeous’ home in just eight weeks

When she first moved into the property, the house was run down and bare, with paint peeling off the walls and stained floors.

The mum set to work on the property straight away, tiling the floors and painting the walls.

She carpeted the floors, added stylish wallpaper to the walls and decorated the place with stylish furniture.

In the bathroom Jojo opted for funky grey and white patterned tiles and a brand new bathtub.

In one of the bedrooms, she installed wood flooring and plastered the walls with geometric pink wallpaper.

She also fitted a TV on to the wall and hung elegant satin curtains around the windows.

Jojo’s garden was a mess when she fist moved in, with rubbish littering the floor and piles of mud instead of a lawn.

The savvy mum cleared the mess and put grass down, adding a large table and chairs set to the garden, perfect for long summer nights in the garden.

The place now looks unrecognisable, and it’s hard to believe that the renovation took just eight weeks.

Jojo’s video has clearly left many impressed as it has racked up over 90,000 views on the video sharing platform.

TikTok users raced to the video’s comments section to share their thoughts on the transformation.

One user said: “Absolutely stunning work”.

Another user said: “Awesome job in the garden”.

A third user said: “Gorgeous transformation”.

Council tenants are allowed to make alterations and renovations to their homes.

However, they must make sure that any work conforms to building regulations and planning permission.

Council houses are provided by local authorities to those in need.

They are often cheaper than renting private housing and can also offer greater security from eviction.

Council houses are allocated to prospective tenants via a points based system, with those in greater need given homes first.

The council will contact you about an available property when you are high enough up the waiting list.

More than one million people are currently waiting for social housing in the UK.
