UK’s ‘narrowest house’ on sale for £225k slammed as ‘absolute sheer greed’

A house no wider than a London bus and thought to be one of the UK’s narrowest, is up for sale for whopping £225,000.

The one-bed terrace is in Edgware, North West London, where homes on the same street usually go for between £460,000 and £550,000, the Daily Express reports. At first glance, this house seems like a steal, especially since it’s in Zone 4 of London.

But there’s a catch, as it looks like it’s attached to another house and even shares a driveway that can’t be used because the listing says it’s “on street parking” only.

Some reckon the owners of the next-door house got permission to turn their garage into this two-storey home to make a bit of extra dosh. It’s currently listed on Rightmove with Oyster Properties, who say one of its best features is its “own entrance”.

According to the floorplan, the downstairs is 2.21m wide, which is actually narrower than a London bus, which measures 2.55m. It’s being sold as “ideal for first-time buyers or investment with potential rental income of approx £1,200 per month”.

The interior shots show small kitchen, but a slightly more spacious bedroom, as well as a decent-sized lounge . . . but a bit of a grim bathroom.
