UK’s poshest villages with pretty streets and eye-watering house prices – find your nearest
The poshest villages in the country have been named.
If you are in the mood to up sticks and completely change your life – or simply fancy a day trip – then the list of 48 classy settlements is a good place to start.
Experts has scoured the country in the hunt for the villages with the best thatched cottage scene, the most well-stocked Waitroses and the most thriving country dancing scene to compile its poshest places rundown. On the list are a range of idyllic places deep in the UK countryside, where average house prices reach an eye watering £1.4million in some cases. That is nearly six times greater than the average UK house price.
Frances McDonald, director of research at Savills, told the Telegraph: “Our latest research indicates that proximity to a train station, place of work and family has become much more important for those searching for a new home – particularly as individuals are more likely to be commuting to the office multiple times a week.
“While still important to some now, pandemic buyer wish lists favoured proximity to parks, shops, and local pubs and restaurants. Exactly what village characteristics are classed as essential will vary from buyer to buyer, but we know that access to education, attractive surroundings and connectivity is a decent definition of a ‘have it all’ village.”
