Penz Automotive, led by Todd Penz,
acquired the Nissan and GMC Buick dealerships from Lupient Automotive Group
in December 2019. That leveled up Penz Automotive from just owning the Subaru of Rochester dealership to having three vehicle lots in Rochester.
No financial details were released at the time of the 2019 Penz/Lupient transaction.
Rochester Realtor Merl Groteboer
helped facilitate the deal.
Penz Automotive added a Chevrolet dealership in Spring Valley
in 2022.
In late 2023,
Penz Automotive proposed a plan to move the Nissan dealership
to a more central location in the former Toys ‘R’ Us building at 808 Apache Lane SW in 2024.
That plan stalled and Acme Tools purchased the Apache Lane building for $4.8 million in 2024. After renovating the building, Acme recently opened a new Rochester store on the site.
