Huiskamp Collins Investments, a Quad Cities women-owned and operated financial advisor, held a groundbreaking today for its new building at 4500 E. 56th St., Davenport.

This moment marks a significant milestone as the company transitions from its current leased space (2209 Falcon Ave., Bettendorf) to a purpose-built facility, further solidifying its commitment to serving its clients with excellence, according to a company release Friday.

Construction on the new building, undertaken by Bush Construction, will start on Monday and is expected to be completed within 10-12 months. The design and development of the building are being led by Bush Construction, ensuring a seamless process from inception to completion.

Heidi Huiskamp, founder and owner of Huiskamp Collins Investments, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “Building a permanent home for our team is such an important juncture in the business’s journey,” the release said.

“It represents a special way that we will be able to show up for our community, our employees and our clients, whom we consider to be our family,” she said. “It is also the culmination of a dream I have had for many years of having a space dedicated to empowering women’s financial futures and serving them and the people they love.  Thanks go out to Bush and all our many partners who have made this project possible!”

AJ Loss, president of Bush Construction, shared his insights on the collaboration, saying, “It’s been a pleasure working with Heidi and her team to bring their vision to life. The new building will not only serve as a functional space for Huiskamp Collins, but will also stand as a testament to their commitment to innovation and client satisfaction,” Loss said.

The new building, situated just across 53rd Avenue and less than one mile from the current location, offers easy accessibility for clients on both the Iowa and Illinois sides of the Quad Cities. The 5,300-square-foot facility is on 1.5 acres will include multiple advisor and staff offices to accommodate its growing team and expanded financial services.

The space also features comfortable meeting spaces, and staff collaboration areas.

To complement Huiskamp’s personalized and comforting approach to financial advisement, the building’s look and feel have been carefully designed, the company release said.

“We’ve worked closely with Heidi and her team to develop a design that goes beyond the traditional office setting,” said Sameer Kulkarni, Bush Construction’s director of design. “You can expect a home-like atmosphere that fosters comfort and relaxation, ensuring that every client who walks through the doors feels welcomed and at ease.”

One of the key highlights of the new office is the incorporation of a seminar room—a welcoming space with large bay windows where Heidi and her team will host educational seminars on various financial topics, the release said. This initiative underscores Huiskamp Collins’ core value of education, particularly for underrepresented communities and women.

A Rock Island native and Augustana alum, Huiskamp earned her securities licenses in 2005 and started the Wealth Management Division at Blackhawk Bank & Trust, where she served as a financial advisor and manager of the trust and investment departments.

In 2006, Huiskamp earned a master’s degree at the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin/Madison, where she was valedictorian and president of her class. She started Huiskamp Collins Investments, LLC, in May 2017.
