Seneca County invites residents to help shape local housing strategy at April open houses

Seneca County officials are asking residents to weigh in on the future of housing in the community during two upcoming open house sessions in early April.
The events are part of the county’s effort to develop a Comprehensive Housing Strategy that addresses current challenges and guides future investments. Residents can attend either session: Tuesday, April 1, at the Seneca Falls Community Center, or Wednesday, April 2, at the South Seneca High School Gym Atrium in Ovid. Both events run from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Organizers say the strategy will offer focused guidance on housing policies, programs, and investments, giving local leaders the tools they need to improve housing opportunities. The open house sessions are designed to be informal, drop-in style events where community members can share their perspectives, learn more about the county’s declared Housing State of Emergency, and contribute ideas toward practical solutions.
Those unable to attend in person can participate online by visiting www.schousingstrategy.org to complete a brief survey and access additional information.
Officials are encouraging broad public participation, stressing that community input is critical to shaping effective, locally driven housing policies that will impact Seneca County for years to come.
