SOUTH BEND — It hasn’t been that long since Josh Lugg and Tommy Kraemer completed their Notre Dame football careers as starting offensive linemen.
Yet they are proving just as effective as budding entrepreneurs in real estate management.
South Bend-based Golden Legacy Partners, with Lugg and Kraemer as co-founders, announced Wednesday the strategic acquisition of ESC Property Services, which serves as a long-term property management company for the Eddy Street Commons residential development and the surrounding Notre Dame area.
The transaction increases the number of units under Golden Legacy’s management to 766, according to Lugg, the company’s CEO. Current ESC Property Services employees will remain in place, according to the announcement.
Lugg, a product of Wexford, Pa., made 33 starts for Notre Dame during his six-year career (2017-22).
“We are thrilled and grateful to wake up every day and serve our clients,” Lugg said in a statement. “With the acquisition of ESC Property Services, we know we have the right team in place to uphold the standards of excellence that make every client’s Notre Dame experience truly magical.”
Kraemer, a Cincinnati product who retired from the NFL after appearing in 13 games (three starts) with the Detroit Lions from 2021-23, is the group’s chief operating officer.
“We’re excited to continue our growth and strengthen our commitment to the Notre Dame community,” Kraemer said in a statement. “By combining forces with ESC Property Services, we’re able to offer even more value to our clients, ensuring top-tier service and expertise for years to come.”
Former Irish offensive tackle Cole Mabry, who medically retired from college football in 2020, is chief investment officer for Golden Legacy. Liam Eichenberg, the former Notre Dame All-America tackle now with the NFL’s Miami Dolphins, is listed as a co-founder on the company’s website.
