The late businessman Aaron Slayter built the 20,000 square foot home known as "Maison Bonne Vive" on the corner of Prescott and Horseshoe drives in Alexandria. The home took 6 years to build and was completed in 2007. Through the years the home has been off and on market. At one time it was listed for a price tag of $3.9 million. The property also included an entertainment house. The house included two antique drop down chandeliers, a marble fireplace and antique furniture. Slayter built the home in the manner of the Oak Alley Plantation home in St. James Parish. The home was being torn down as of Monday, Jan. 22, 2024.
