USA: the White House forces a Chinese company to sell property near an air base in Wyoming
La White House announced yesterday that it had forced a Chinese company to sell real estate near a U.S. Air Force base in Wyoming, citing national security risks. MineOne Partners Limited, a company controlled by Chinese citizens, had purchased together with other companies a plot of land about 1,6 kilometers from Francis E. Warren Air Force Base: a strategic missile base, part of the US arsenal of intercontinental ballistic missiles. The Chinese-owned company and its partners intended to place a cryptocurrency mining center on the plot.
“The proximity of foreign-owned real estate to a strategic missile base and key element of the nuclear triad, and the presence of specialized systems and purchases from abroad, potentially capable of facilitating surveillance and espionage activities, present a security risk national team of the United States,” says a note from White House. The company was given 120 days to sell its interest in the property.
