Charter Hall CIO to depart

The chief investment officer of Charter Hall, Sean McMahon, is to exit after a decade with the business.

In an ASX announcement, the firm said he “will be departing the business to pursue other opportunities”.

McMahon joined Charter Hall in the CIO role back in August 2016 and was responsible for the Group’s strategy and balance sheet investments, mergers and acquisitions, with oversight for multi-sector disciplines including property transactions and company secretary and legal divisions, together with corporate development.

As well as his CIO role, he will also step down from his role as a director of the responsible entity for Charter Hall Social Infrastructure REIT.

His responsibilities in both positions will be assumed by managing director and group CEO David Harrison on an interim basis as well as the other members of the executive committee.

“The process to appoint a CIO and determine what responsibilities that role will have are underway, and an update will be provided in due course.

“The company thanks Mr McMahon for his contribution to Charter Hall over 10 years and wishes him well in his future endeavours.”
