Demetra Holdings Plc: Strong liquidity, property and equity holdings

Demetra Holdings Plc holds substantial liquidity and assets exceeding half a billion euros, according to its quarterly investment statement for the period ended 30 September 2026.

Based on the figures disclosed to the Cyprus Stock Exchange, the company’s total assets stood at €513,520,634, while the net asset value attributable to shareholders was €496,052,983.

The most striking feature is the exceptionally high level of bank deposits and cash, which total €376,191,447 – or 73.26% of total assets. In other words, nearly three out of every four euros in Demetra’s asset base is held in cash and bank deposits, rather than in shares, property or other investments.

This reflects the company’s considerable financial flexibility, as it has significant capital available that could be deployed for new investments or other corporate initiatives.

€89.9 million in property investments – Cyprus dominates

The second-largest category of Demetra’s assets relates to investments in property development and management, with a total value of €89.9 million, representing 17.51% of total assets.

The largest share of these investments is in Cyprus, valued at €77.66 million, while investments in Romania amount to €10.03 million and in Bulgaria to €2.21 million. As a result, approximately 86% of Demetra’s property investments are concentrated in the Cypriot market.

It should be noted that the quarterly statement does not provide further details on the specific properties, their returns, or any development plans.

€21.3 million stake in Logicom

Among its investments in listed companies, Demetra’s largest holding is in Logicom Public Ltd. The company owns 7,615,937 Logicom shares, with a book value of €21.32 million, equivalent to 4.15% of its total assets.

This is followed by its stake in Lordos Hotels (Holdings) Public Ltd, where Demetra holds 6,122,433 shares valued at €8.02 million.

The company also holds a significant investment in Alpha Bank, with one million shares valued at €4.86 million.

Smaller holdings include NETinfo Plc (734,895 shares worth €808,000), Bank of Cyprus (1,959 shares worth €21,275) and CLR Investment Fund (232,165 shares worth €929).

In total, the value of Demetra’s listed equity investments amounts to approximately €35 million, representing 6.82% of total assets. The company also reports €8.07 million in investments in other projects, without providing further details on their nature.

Net asset value of €2.498 per share

Another notable figure is Demetra’s net asset value per share, which stood at €2.4980 as of 30 September 2026.

This is calculated by dividing the net assets attributable to shareholders -€496.05 million- by the 198,580,048 issued shares, after deducting treasury shares that have been repurchased.

Net asset value is an important metric for assessing the company, as it reflects the accounting net worth attributable to each share. However, it does not necessarily correspond to the share’s market price, which is determined by supply and demand in the market.
