“Entrepreneurship Is Being Punished” Says Innovator Who Turned An Inheritance Into Property Investments

One of Betoota’s favourite sons has today gone WHACK on the Albanese Government and the broader Australian culture.
Damien Tomlinson (32) has absolutely teed off on the ‘descent into a communist regime’ that is completely and utterly destroying ‘the spirit of entrepreneurship.’
Tomlinson’s comments have raised eyebrows with some in the community, who have pointed out that he isn’t exactly the most classic example of an entrepreneur.
Entrepreneurship is loosely defined as a person who starts, organises, and manages a business venture while assuming the financial risks and responsibilities of the enterprise to make a profit or solve a specific problem.
Many people often think of creators, scientists, product designers, innovators and people who come up with genius ideas that fulfil a societal or market need – however the noisiest section of the community are now the property investors who have tacked themselves on to that group, the suckerfish who broker those properties and the agents that sell them.
The self-proclaimed entrepreneur Tomlinson says the recent tax changes to CGT discounts and negative gearing (AKA the reduction in the National Subsidised Investment Scheme) are just the beginning.
“Mate, I don’t think the family and I will be calling Australia home for much longer,” said Tomlinson, whose entrepreneurial journey began ten years ago when he put a massive inheritance from his grandparents into property and used the rapid government subsidised market boom to leverage his growing equity for the purchase of roughly a new property every year.
Now, the proud owner of 9 different properties worth in excess of 15 million bucks, of which he didn’t build a single one and poorly maintains the others (despite his rather large negative gearing claims, which are of course grandfathered), Tomlinson said ‘this is tall poppy syndrome deluxe.’
“It’s all good mate, I’ll just hand over what ever I earn to Albo,” he ranted in his latest video.
“Entrepreneurialism is dead.”
More to come.
